Celby ("we", "us") helps New Zealand homeowners sell their homes privately. This policy explains how we collect, use and look after your personal information, in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

What we collect

We collect information you give us directly: your name, email address and phone number when you enquire about a listing, apply to sell with Celby, or contact us; details about your property if you list with us; and the content of messages you send through our forms. We also collect basic technical information when you use the site, such as pages visited and device type.

How we use it

We use your information to run the Celby service: passing buyer enquiries directly to the relevant home owner, responding to your questions, setting up and managing listings, sending information you have asked for, and improving the website. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

Who we share it with

When you enquire about a property, your name, contact details and message go to the owner of that property so they can reply to you directly. We also use trusted service providers to run the site (such as website hosting and email), who process information only on our behalf. We may disclose information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, then delete or de-identify it.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. Email hello@celby.co.nz and we will respond promptly. If you are not happy with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar tools to make the site work and to understand how it is used, in aggregate. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update this page and the date above.
